South West Sport is a leading organisation in the sport and recreation sector, playing a pivotal role in developing healthier, more inclusive and active communities across South West Victoria. A not-for-profit organisation founded in 1985, South West Sport is one of nine Regional Sports Assemblies in Victoria. We provide advice, support and guidance to sporting clubs, leagues, associations, councils, schools and community organisations across the region. Through collaboration with the sport and recreation sector, local government and community partners, we work to strengthen the capacity of community sport, increase participation in sport and active recreation, promote inclusive and welcoming environments, and support the development of sustainable and thriving communities. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by a dedicated team of staff, South West Sport delivers programs, projects and initiatives that respond to local needs while aligning with state and national sport and recreation priorities. Our work includes supporting club and volunteer development, strengthening governance and leadership, facilitating partnerships, promoting gender equity and diversity, delivering workforce development opportunities, and advocating for equitable access to sport and recreation opportunities for all.
