Self Advocates Connected is a Self Advocacy Group run by people with an Intellectual Disability or Acquired Brain Injury for people with an Intellectual Disability or Acquired Brain Injury who live in South West Victoria. The group works together to make sure its members have the same rights, choices and opportunities as anyone else. We meet every 2nd Wednesday from 10:30am until 12pm. Morning Tea is provided. Self Advocates Connected provides group members:

- Support and understanding
- Inclusion and respect
- Connection to community
- An opportunity to meet new people and make new friends
- Share Knowledge and learn new skills
- Have lots of fun!
The group supports people to:
- Speak up for their rights and help others to do the same
- Learn and share information, ideas and skills
- Plan and work together for more inclusive communities
- Tell governments, services and the community about their rights, needs and issues and create change
- Be part of training and events
- Develop leadership skills
- Learn about representative opportunities.
We would like to meet in other towns across South West Victoria as our membership grows. We would like to hear ideas from you. Membership is free! Members can attend as many or few meetings as they like Attendance is not compulsory Just call or email to find out dates and where we are meeting.
