Warrnambool Rostrum Club

Rostrum is the world's longest-running public speaking organization and has been helping Australians find their voice since 1930. We are a non-profit teaching organization with a network of over 100 clubs throughout Australia. Warrnambool Rostrum Club has about 10 members and we always welcome visitors to our meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 7:30pm to about 9:15pm at the Salvation Army building, 58-60 Mortlake Road, Warrnambool. Drive into the back car park of Salvation Army building, enter by the nearest entrance, walk up the corridor and turn right. The hall where we meet is at the end of this corridor. Our meetings finish at 9pm and then we talk informally while enjoying a delicious, homemade supper. We have an even balance of men and women of various ages but we all have a common interest in building confidence in speaking to an audience. Our Club program provides new and experienced members with a sequential program aimed at building skills in public speaking. This program includes many opportunities to learn from tutorials and both fun and serious activities, presented in an educationally sound manner. Our main goal is to cater for the needs of our members and at the same time provide opportunities to become familiar with business meeting procedure. Leadership training is provided during the year through encouragement to participate in the running of meetings and learn how to support and coach other members.
