Warrnambool | A City for Living

Warrnambool Rifle Club

Our club was formed in 1886 and, according to the Defence Department, in the early years was considered part of the "national forces". During WWI , 46 of our members were part of the war front. For more than 50 years our shooting range was located at Thunder Point until the relocation to our current Lake Gillear, Buckleys Road range. Our long range is IDEAL for big bore shooting. This range was constructed in 1999 and features quality, watered, grass firing mounds at 300, 600, 700, 900 and 1000 yards. Construction has also been completed on a new 100m range complete with undercover shooting veranda to protect from the legendary Warrnambool wind and rain. This range has target platforms at 50 and 100 yards. Ideal for sighting in or just a fun day at the range shooting paper targets or steel reactive targets. Our range has permits for all hunting calibers up to but not including 50BMG. We also shoot black powder firearms up to 54 CAL. Currently, shooting is conducted here every Monday and Tuesday evening starting at 6.30pm. We also shoot long range every first and third Saturday of the month. All Welcome.
