Warrnambool Organ Festival

The main aim of the festival is to showcase the beautiful and historic pipe organs in some of the churches in Warrnambool in order recognise these instruments as wonderful cultural assets in our community. In addition we seek to increase awareness and appreciation of pipe organ music and to encourage students, both young and older, to learn to play the organ. We envisage the Organ Festival will become a high-profile and significant annual cultural event in the City of Warrnambool. The festival has been held every year since 2014. Our audiences, whilst not large, have been growing every year. In 2016 approximately 500 people attended 5 concerts at 4 different churches as well as a play with organ accompaniment at the Mozart Hall. In 2017 we have been fortunate to secure the services of four eminent international organists to give recitals - Martin Setchell, Anthony Halliday, Dominic Perissinotto and Brendon Lukin. Each of these organists regularly performs on the international circuit and is highly regarded within the organ-playing community. At each concert, local musicians, such as singers and other instrumentalists will be part of the concert program. We aim to give the general public the opportunity to hear the magnificent sound of the pipe organs housed in some of our beautiful old churches.
