WRAD Family & Friends Group

Overview

WRAD Family & Friends Group meet every THIRD MONDAY of the month at the WRAD Centre. Meetings commence at 5:30p.m. Enter via main entrance 172 Merri St.
The group is a supportive environment for those who have family members or friends with a substance abuse or addiction issue. This includes prescription and non prescription drugs and alcohol and people who have a dual diagnosis of substance abuse and a co-occurring mental illness.
WRAD recognise that care, support and intervention in the day to day needs of family and friends where a family member or significant other with substance abuse issues is stressful and often difficult to seek support for.
The group provides mutual support, information and advice and is very welcoming of new members.
Often there will also be a guest speaker from a relevant service.
WRAD are always seeking interested volunteers to join the group and receive training as facilitators, this in consultation with the group and will be specific to the needs of the group.
