The “Warrnambool Whales” is a friendly swim club with members ranging from their 20’s to over 80. Choose when you would like to swim. There are 6 sessions each week. Swim as often as you like.
The Warrnambool Whales Swimming Club is affiliated with Masters Swimming in Australia Inc.
Masters Swimming stated purpose is to “encourage all adults regardless of ability, to swim regularly in order to promote fitness and improve their general health”.
Members are issued with a registration number that entitles them to compete in all Masters sanctioned events throughout Australia and abroad, as well as to train with any other Masters club around Australia.
Masters swimmers may choose to enter State, National and World Championships. The Clubs focus is on swimming for fun and fitness although many members choose to participate in the State/National e1000 (aerobic swim) programs. Open water swimming, mostly focussing on the Shipwreck Coast series is popular with members. The Club also has a Re Start Program that runs throughout the year. The program is designed to help people who have not swum for some time to return to swimming. There is no obligation to become a Club Member, the aim is to return people to swimming so that they can once again enjoy the health and social benefits that comes with swimming.
