Overview

The Salvation Army is one of the world's largest Christian social welfare organisations with more than 1,650,000 members working in over 124 countries.

We have been in Australia for over 130 years. Currently we have more than 8,500 active officers and staff delivering in excess of 1000 specifically designed social programs across Australia.

The Salvation Army helps more than 1 million Australians every year – that's one person every 30 seconds!

In Warrnambool we offer a range of programs, which include Emergency Relief, Housing and crisis accommodation, chaplaincy, Thrift Shop, and a range of community groups that offer people community and a chance to explore the Christian life.

We meet for Christian worship each Sunday at 10:00 AM at our Church at 265 Lava Street.

We have many opportunities for people in the community to be involved in supporting those in the community who need that 'hand up'. Our Thrift shop is always looking for volunteers who could sort donations or work in the front of shop.

Major Events

The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal held in May. Christmas Appeal Walking Home - Homelessness Awareness event November.
