Warrnambool Neighbourhood & Community Centre

MISSION STATEMENT

The Warrnambool Neighbourhood and Community Centre provides a caring, informal environment where people can discover their creativity and potential through self-help, learning and participation. A place to call in and meet others, and build friendships

STATEMENT OF PURPOSES

The purposes for which the proposed incorporated association is established are:

• To encourage users to perceive the Community House as a community resource and to take responsibility for its organisation and management.

• To provide a diverse range of programs and services accessible to the whole community but with a focus on disadvantaged groups within the community. All programs and activities will be offered without discrimination.

• To provide support and an information and referral service which aims to inform people about their rights to services and entitlements. In addition, to provide information on other community services and programs and to work co-operatively with these services.

• To provide a friendly informal environment where people in our community feel comfortable to drop in whenever they wish.

• To provide opportunities for education and training for any member in our community.

• To initiate and maintain a program of activities based on community need and interests.

• To ensure that the Community House is accessible, through the operation of a flexible system of hours and charges.

• To provide a forum where collective resident action can be facilitated.
