Warrnambool Astronomy Nights is a group of amateur astronomers who plan public viewing nights in and around Warrnambool.
From telescope equipment to all that is astronomy, we share our knowledge of where in the sky to view deep-space objects, including planets and star lore.
The events are announced on our FaceBook group called 'Warrnambool Astronomy Nights'; when the weather is clear for the night viewing, an event can attract up to 30 or more people.
Warrnambool Astronomy Nights has been invited to schools in the Southwest to give talks on Astronomy, ending with a time at the telescopes.
Clear skies,
Michael Toms
We plan monthly events in and around Warrnambool. They occur on or just after New Moon. It all depends on the weather! Woodford Jubilee Park is becoming an ideal place for dark sky nights, with the hope the Warrnambool City Council doesn't set up park lights in and around the park.
