Portland District U3A is auspiced by U3A Network Victoria, and is concerned with maintaining the health and well being of seniors in our community.
Once named University of the Third Age, we run varied programs promoting learning, friendship and fun.
We have a membership of just over 100 members and some of our activities include;
Armchair Travel,
Art Classes,
Bridge, Canasta, Chess, Mahjong,
Historical Topics, Current Affairs,
Gentle Exercises,
Walking tours,
International Food and Culture, Cryptic Crosswords,
Book Group,
Music Appreciation, Film Appreciation,
French Language, Star Gazing,
Games Days and others.
We have out of town tours on occasion as well.
Apart from our regular weekly programs, our programs run from 5-8 weeks.
All tutors are volunteers.
Programs are often selected by request.
International food and culture evenings. Coach trip to places with cultural or other interest.
Migrant Support, Volunteer Drivers, Welcoming New Residents, Arts & Entertainment (music, dance, creative workshops etc)
