The Promoting Heywood & District Committee's aim is to promote Heywood and all it has to offer.
We increase tourism and visitation to Heywood and district.
Our group encourages tourism within Heywood and district, by promoting and assisting the groups that come under the auspice of Promoting Heywood Inc.
By bridging the gap between all sub-committee's and support groups, and by assisting and liaising between groups to promote functions, markets, festivals and to encourage active participation for all ages gender and ability.
To encourage positive meaningful communication between all groups that are located in Heywood and district.
We aim to be transparent, positive, and enthusiastic, in our vision idea's and planning, now and into the future.
Meetings are held 1st Wednesday of the month at 7pm at the Heywood Pioneer Wagon Shed & Museum, 1a Hunter Street, Heywood. The committee hold the Christmas on the town green each year days prior to Christmas to bring the community together. The New Years eve event includes bands, food outlets and fireworks at 10pm and Midnight is another event the the committee also organise. Each year on Australia day on the banks of the Fitzroy river the committee also host the Citizen of the year awards.
If you are community minded, and would like join Promoting Heywood, the cost is $2., or to volunteer your time in either the Heywood Pioneer Wagon Shed Museum & History Group, or the Model Train Room on 2nd Saturday of the month, you would be welcomed. All members of groups under the auspice of Promoting Heywood, must be a financial member of Promoting Heywood Inc.
