Our orchid club meets once a month on the 3rd Tuesday (not January or December). We usually have guest speakers each month and we bring orchids that we have flowering and have a popular vote. We learn a lot about growing and showing orchids from each other and from our guest speakers. We are like minded people and have a good social atmosphere. There is a spring show the 1st full weekend in October each year and another show usually the last weekend in October at Portland.
Visitors who may want to join us for a meeting or two are very welcome and we would love to see any new members who wish to join our club. The meetings are held at the CWA Rooms in Kepler Street at 7.30pm each 3rd Tuesday of the month and we finish the evening with supper and a chat
ORCHID SPRING SHOW at the start of October in WARRNAMBOOL (last weekend of school holidays). Held at Our Lady Help of Christians Hall, Selby Rd, Warrnambool. The dates and times this year (2023) are SATURDAY SEPTEMBER30th (10am-4pm) and SUNDAY OCTOBER 1st (10am-3pm). There is a magnificent array of different types of orchids and the perfume is amazing. The show is judged by OSCOV judges who travel from Melbourne. Lots of orchids and bark will be for sale and potting demonstrations will be held. You might even win an orchid in one of our raffles! AT PORTLAND there is an unjudged DISPLAY SHOW later in the month and this year (2023) it is on SATURDAY OCTOBER 28th 10am to 4pm) and SUNDAY OCTOBER 29th 10am to 3pm). We have sales plants and raffles as well as an amazing display of orchids.
