Portland Cable Trams is a tourist heritage tramway, established in 1996 and is a community owned, not for profit, tourism attraction. We run seven (7) days per week, with the exception of being closed Christmas Day.
All tram drivers and conductors, gardeners, tram maintenance personnel, track maintenance personnel, cleaners and administration and customer service officers are volunteers.
Our volunteers, both male and female, range in age from 40's to 80's. All age groups and abilities are welcome to join our willing group of volunteers.
We have vacancies in all areas of the operations of the cable tram and anyone who feels that they would like to join our group, or with skills that they would like to utilise then please contact us.
At Christmas our celebrations include Santa with Rudolph and his Sleigh leading the tram on special Christmas trips, where the children can deliver a letter to Santa, photo opportunities etc.
