The South West Coast Network represents 12 landcare, coastcare and NRM groups from Codrington to Port Macdonnell in South Australia.
The key function of the group is to provide a focus on educating the community about the environment and how community members can assist in improving and maintaining their local area.
The network holds events each year where guest speakers with knowledge in some aspect of the environment share their expertise. Areas covered in the past range from endangered bird species, marine threats, wetland restoration and applying carbon to soils.
The network also holds an annual bus excursion that views various projects completed by member groups. These excursions are open to community members who have an interest in the local environment.
The network meets bi monthly with its board meeting as required.
Membership is from network groups and interested community members can be provided with a range of groups they can join that are part of the network.
