Probus Club of Portland

Overview

PROBUS, a subsidiary of Rotary, is an association for active members of the community and for those no longer working full time to join together in clubs for a new lease of life. Its basic purpose is to advance intellectual and cultural interests amongst adult persons; to provide regular opportunities to progress healthy minds and active bodies, through social interaction and activities, expand interests and to enjoy the fellowship of new friends.
Membership is open to any member of the community who is retired or semi retired and is looking for the friendship, fellowship and fun that Pobus has to offer.
There are five Probus Clubs in Portland and Heywood catering for Women, men and women and men. The Probus Club of Portland club is for men.
Clubs have a number of trips each year ranging from one day up. You and your partner can normally attend any event.
Highlight event of the year is the Probus Big Day, held in July run by the our Portland clubs and Heywood - it is a 2 course lunch followed by performances from members of each club.
There are monthly meetings, lunches and BBQs.
