The Rifle Association includes membership of affiliated South West District Rifle Clubs and their resective members those Clubs are - Portland, Yambuk, Warrnambool and Port Campbell.
The purpose of the Association is to promote the sport of rifle shooting throughout the Region.
It has always been the aim of the Association to develop and provide first class, secure tenure, facilities for all of its members.
As the Association represents the interests of Shooting Sports Clubs there is always the awareness of external pressures brought about by firearm regulation.
The Association has established a National Class shooting sports Complex to accomodate all disiplines of shooting sports securing the presence of competitive and social shooting sport activities within the South West Region of Victoria.
The shooting sports catered for at the South West Region Target Sports Complex at Warrnambool are - Full bore and Small bore rifle, Sporting rifle, Clay target and Sporting clay shotgun, Archery and Black powder muzzle loader firearm.
Future addition of Pistol shooting would involve all ballistic sports within the Complex.
Annual Summer By The Sea - 5 day Fullbore Rifle prize meeting conducted last week in December. Warrnambool Clay Target Seaside Carnival conducted second weekend each February.
