Lighthouse Depression Support Group

Overview

Lighthouse is a support group for persons living with depression or their carers. Interested others are also warmly invited to attend. There is no formal membership. Anyone is welcome to attend as they are able.

We meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month February to November at the Arts Centre in Portland, 7.30-9.00pm. Meetings are first names only, informal, enjoyable and practical. The format of each meeting varies and includes presentations by resource persons from the local community, stories shared by volunteers regarding their ways of coping and social activities as scheduled from time to time.

The only cost is a gold coin donation upon entry. First timers no charge. Printed materials are always available at no charge. A full range of beyondblue material is available on request.

Personal Support and Counselling

Our purpose is one of providing caring support. Lighthouse is not a counselling group with any in need being referred on to professional counsellors in the community.
