Southern 500 Speedway

Overview

Southern 500 Speedway has been in operation for 60 years at Heathmere. Speedway Racing is a family and all inclusive sport. Our race meets as usually held on a Saturday night with full catering available. The cost is $60 a family and $25 an Adult, child over 12 $10 kids under 12 free, concession is $15.

Southern 500 Speedway is keen to attract new members who wish to be part of a forward thinking club. The club requires volunteers from crash crew on race night, people keen to learn how to lap score, canteen volunteers & general maintenance crews & assist in Pit Marshall box.

Over the past 2 years we have made some upgrades to facilities and are currently working on upgrading the Spectator canteen and raising money to buy a new grader.

The Portland Adult Riders Club assist us to run the Spectator Canteen. We are looking to expand our contacts with local service clubs.
