Trewalla Recreation Reserve is a small bush reserve located approx. 12km west of Portland along Oakleys Road. The reserve is managed by a local committee under the governance of Dept of Environment, Water & Primary Industries.
The committee meets triannually to elect committee members. The committee aims to preserve the natural vegetation and encourage regeneration of native species through weed control. Basic walking tracks are maintained to allow access for maintenance and recreational purposes.
Most volunteer work is done by local residents on an irregular basis with support from the local Tarragul Landcare Group.
Individuals or groups are invited to offer their support in maintaining the reserve - most working-bees are held in the cooler months - by contacting the secretary or Tarragul Landcare Group.
11th December 2018 Conservation and International Student Volunteers along with Tarragal Landcare Group whole-day working-bee to treat weed infestations on the reserve.
