Warrnambool Symphony Orchestra

Overview

The orchestra was formed in 1987, incorporated in 1988 and has been in continuous operation since. Members are (mostly amateur) players of orchestral instruments -strings, woodwind, brass and percussion - who usually meet to rehearse every week aside from school holidays. Typically the orchestra performs 3 to 5 concerts each year, and supplies players to other groups such as stage bands for musical theatre productions, small ensembles for weddings and other community events. The Robin Wright Ensemble caters for developing players of all ages. Many of these players go on to join the orchestra.
