Goal: Improve the health of the Merri River and associated waterways
Objectives:
• Promote and instigate restoration of native vegetation along the Merri waterways by public and private landholders to improve catchment health
• Attract resources to carry out restoration programmes along the Merri waterways including preservation of natural and cultural values
• Engage urban and rural communities within the catchment in understanding the values of the Merri waterways by providing opportunities for participation in activities with all stakeholders to protect, restore, research or monitor the water quality, river health and wildlife supported by the waterways.
• Facilitate the ability for group member organisations and other stakeholders to contribute to policies, development plans and resource allocation decisions that may influence important environmental, social and recreational values of the waterway.
