The Warrnambool Yacht Club (WYC) is based on Lady Bay in Warrnambool and has for many years encouraged children and adults to be able to experience the sport of sailing in a sailing school and club based racing. The club has purchased a number of Lasers which are available to those interested in "Come & Try Sailing". Under instruction from experienced sailors/coaches who volunteer their time every Saturday morning with up to 10 boats utilised. Members come from the Warrnambool & surrounding district and vary from ages of 8 to 80 of both sexes. Family participation is encouraged with many participants attending as adults with their children. The ability to try sailing without the outlay of cost of purchasing equipment means that anyone can participate. WYC also participate in the Yachting Victoria Western Region activities at Portland, Port Fairy, Camperdown and Lake Bolac and therefore also has involvement in the South West district of Victoria.
